Overberg Cheese & Wine MTB trip
Three days of mountain biking and living the good life in the Overberg
Treat yourself to a laid-back 2-night/3-day mountain biking adventure in the heart of the Overberg, while enjoying the great wines and artisanal cheeses that the Klein River Valley is famous for.
Itenerary
Day 1: Arrive at liesure throughout the afternoon in Stanford. Check in anytime from 14:00. Once all have checked in, we will get the bikes out, and enjoy a short afternoon ride around town to aquint yourself with the area, and make sure the bikes are ready for tomorrows ride. After showing you around town, we will get ready for dinner, and head out to for dinner at one of the great local restaurants to enjoy the sunset over the valley, and grab a drink and some dinner, and maybe even some live music (if its a friday) – Overnight – Stanford
Day 2: After some coffee and rusks – or a light breakfast if you choose, we will head out on a 60km round trip along gravel tracks, country roads, jeep and single tracks, while we make our way up the Klein River Valley, Stopping off first for a proper breakfast at Bluegum Estate, before making our way to the top of the valley, and sampling the delicious cheese on offer at Stone House Cheese Farm, followed by wine tastings at Boschrivier and Raka, before our final stop at Birkenhead, for a beer tasting matched with an exceptional Klein River Cheeses platter.
That concludes the riding for today, and we head back into town, for a relaxed afternoon, followed by your choice of either a sunset cruise on the lagoon, or a 4×4 trip in the Walker Bay Nature Reserve, with sundowners on the beach, followed by dinner at one of the great restaurants in town. – Overnight – Stanford
Day 3: Today its all up to you. You have a choice of either taking it easy, enjoying a late lie in, followed by brunch at a local bakery before heading back to Cape Town, or you can choose between either a trail ride followed by brunch or a fat bike experience on in the dunes overlooking Walker Bay. If you opt for either of these, we will arrange a late checkout, enabling you to have a shower and freshen up before departing for home.
